What do you do when AI recommends someone else?
The short answer
We look at who was named instead and which sources the answer leaned on. Then we fix what’s in our hands, like a missing page or a detail that doesn’t match across the web, and check again later to see if it moved.
First, we look at why
Every check shows us two things when another business is recommended instead of you:
- Who was recommended, and for which questions
- Which sources the answer drew on
Those usually point to a reason. Maybe the other business has a page for the exact service the question asked about, and you don't. Maybe the answers lean on a directory where your details are out of date. Maybe the question was about a town your site doesn't mention.
Then we fix what's in our hands
On your website, we can act directly. That might mean a page for a service your site doesn't cover yet, a town you serve but don't mention, or a detail that doesn't match. Every change waits for your approval. How changes work.
On your Google listing, we can help if you add us as a manager. More on that.
Elsewhere, like a directory with your old phone number, we tell you what we found and what to change.
Then we check again
Assistants take time to notice changes, and their answers move around. So we don't judge one answer. We check again later and compare how often you're recommended, across all 84 answers, to the time before.
What we won't do
We won't promise a recommendation, and we won't game it. There's no trick that makes an assistant recommend you. The work is being the clearest, most consistent and most complete answer about your kind of work in your area.
