Where do my business details come from?
The short answer
From you, first. To save you typing, we also read your old website and your Google listing and fill in what they say. We keep track of where each detail came from, and anything you tell us wins.
Three places, in order
1. You. What you tell us is the final word. Anything you type or confirm is kept, and nothing we find later overwrites it.
2. Your old website. If you have one, we read it and use what it clearly states to fill in anything you haven't told us yet. More on this.
3. Your Google listing. If you pick your business from Google when you start, its name, phone number and location fill in your first details.
Found is not the same as confirmed
A detail we found and a detail you confirmed aren't treated the same. Every detail remembers where it came from: you, your old website, or your Google listing. Found details save you typing, but they don't count as your word until you've seen them.
Why it matters
The same details appear on every page of your site, in the labels Google reads, and in what AI assistants learn about you. One wrong phone number, repeated on hundreds of pages, does real damage. So your details live in one place, you can see where each came from, and one change fixes them everywhere.
"Not recorded" is an honest answer
If we don't know something, like whether you offer financing, we don't guess. Your site leaves it out rather than say something you never said.
