What happens after the switch?
The short answer
We read your live site back the way a visitor would, to check it’s the version you approved. Then we open it to Google and start the checks that come with your plan. Keep your old website plan for 30 days, in case your domain or email is tied to it.
We read your site back
Every time your site is published, we read it back the way a visitor would: your homepage, a service page, a forwarded old address, your sitemap and the instructions for search engines. We check every page we read is the exact version you approved, not a leftover copy. If it isn't, the update is rolled back.
We open it to Google
Once your site is live on your own domain, we confirm the business is yours and open the site to Google. From then on, your sitemap tells Google about every page.
Your site is never shown to Google twice. While it's a preview on a Rule & Form address, it's kept out of Google, so it never competes with your real domain.
We start your plan's checks
With your site live, we start the work that comes with your plan:
- AI visibility: we ask ChatGPT and Gemini the questions your customers ask, and record whether you're recommended. How it works.
- Google Maps: we check where your Google listing shows up for the searches your trade gets. How it works.
- Job software: if you use Jobber, we connect it with you and watch your first lead arrive there. How it works.
What you should do
- Keep your old website plan for 30 days. Some companies tie your domain or email to it. Cancel it once you're sure nothing you use depends on it.
- Send yourself a test lead. Fill in your own form and watch the text and email arrive.
- Tell us anything that looks wrong. Ask Rule & Form in your portal, or text it. How to ask.
