What a lead from your site includes
The short answer
Who the customer is, how to reach them, what they need in their own words, and which page they were on when they asked. If they arrived from an ad, the lead says that too.
What the customer gives you
Customers can reach you two ways through your site, and they choose:
Call me back. Just a phone number. For people who don't want to type, or are standing in a flooded kitchen.
Send details. Their name, phone number or email, and what they need, in their own words.
If someone types a broken email address but a good phone number, the lead still comes through with the phone number. We don't lose a customer over a typo.
What we add
Every lead also carries what the customer didn't type:
- What they need. The service, from the page they asked on. A lead from your water heater repair page says so.
- The page they were on when they asked.
- How they found you. Google, an ad, another website, or typing your address straight in. If they clicked a Google or Facebook ad, the lead notes that, and any campaign name your ad carried.
- The offer they asked about, if your homepage shows one and they picked it.
- When it arrived.
What you can do with that
Call back knowing what they need before you dial. See which pages bring in work. See whether your ads bring in real leads, without a separate tracking setup. More on that.
One lead, once
If a customer taps send twice, or their phone loses signal and retries, you get one lead, not two.
Phone calls
When someone taps your number on a phone, we count the tap and the page it came from. The call itself goes straight to your phone, and we don't record or listen to it.
