What happens when you switch to Rule & Form
The short answer
You give us your website address. We build your new site, keep what your old site earned with Google, and move your address over when you’re ready. Your old site stays up the whole time.
Moving a website that already brings in work feels risky, so here is the whole move, step by step. You can stop at any point before the last one, and nothing about your current site changes until then.
- You give us your website address
Type it on our homepage. We read your current site and pull out what it says about your business: your services, your towns, your phone number and your story.
How this works - We build your new site, free
Within minutes you can click through a complete site built for your trade, with a page for every service you do and every town you serve. Nothing is public yet.
How this works - You check it and approve it
Look through every page. Fix anything that isn't right. Your site goes live only when you approve it.
How this works - We map every old address
Every address on your old site gets an answer on the new one, so links in Google and in customers' bookmarks keep working.
How this works - You switch your domain
You change a few settings where your domain is managed. We show you exactly which ones, or do it with you on a call. Your old site stays up until the switch finishes.
How this works - We check it and keep it running
We read your live site back to check it's the version you approved, open it to Google, and look after it from then on.
How this works
What stays the same
- Your web address. Customers find you at the same domain as before.
- Your email. You never touch your email settings, so your email keeps working.
- Your job software. Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan or whatever you use stays exactly as it is.
- Your old links. Every old address answers, either with a page or by sending people to the closest one.
- Your blog posts and legal pages. Same words, same addresses, in your new design.
What changes
Your other pages are rebuilt, not copied. You get a page for each service you do and each town you serve, written for your trade, with your details in them. Most owners who switch end up with far more pages than they started with.
What it costs
Building and looking at your new site is free. When you want it live, it's $299 a month, with no setup fee and no contract. Moving your current site is included for most sites. If yours needs something unusual, we tell you before any work starts.
